Bleeding Gods

About Bleeding Gods

A Dutch symphonic black metal outfit with a penchant for pairing punishing riffage with classical flourishes, Bleeding Gods was founded in 2012 by ex-Houwitser guitarist Ramon Ploeg. Drawing inspiration from ancient gods and Mayan, Egyptian, and Greek history, Ramon issued a four-track promo in 2013, which led to a recording contract with Italian thrash label Punishment 18. Operating as a five-piece with the additions of Mark Huisman (vocals), Rutger van Noordenburg (guitar), Gea Mulder (bass), and Daan Klemann (drums), the band issued their full-length debut, Shepherd of Souls, in 2014. They moved to Nuclear Blast for their sophomore effort, 2018's Dodekathlon. ~ James Christopher Monger
