Editorial Reviews
BLACK STAR RIDERS are back - with a new album, a new line-up, and what frontman Ricky Warwick calls "a new energy and chemistry". In the seven years since Warwick and legendary guitarist Scott Gorham put BLACK STAR RIDERS together, they have made three of the finest hard rock albums, "All Hell Breaks Loose", "The Killer Instinct" and "Heavy Fire", of modern times. Scott Gorham and Ricky Warwick created BLACK STAR RIDERS out of the modern version of Thin Lizzy, the band in which Gorham had served in it's golden age during the 1970s on classic albums including "Jailbreak", "Bad Reputation", "Live And Dangerous" and "Black Rose". Rounding out the Black Star Riders line up is guitarist Christian Martucci, formerly of Stone Sour, bassist Robert Crane, formerly of RATT and Vince Neal, and drummer Chad Szeliga, formerly of Breaking Benjamin and Black Label Society.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2020Admittedly, I am a total newbie to Black Star Riders ... they had to make four albums for me to pay attention. While I was a Thin Lizzy admirer for years, I mostly knew them from compilations. And I was a big fan of singer Ricky Warwick's '90s biker-metal band the Almighty (at least their first two albums), but I lost interest as they seemed to lose their direction. A decade later, Warwick and Scott Gorham teamed to create Black Star Riders ... and I slept on them. Big mistake. This album has a great, lean, mean selection of tracks of Anglo-American rock ... with echoes of the Dropkick Murphys and Thin Lizzy, naturally. Warwick's double-tracked vocals are way up front and crystal-clear in the mix, making for a rare experience: How many rock albums have you heard lately with completely discernable singing, where each lyric can be heard and understood? ANOTHER STATE OF GRACE is my first excursion with these Riders, but I hope it won't be my last.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2019Another 5 star album from the band that rose from the memories and sounds of Thin Lizzy. I've been preaching bout these guys from day one. Scott Gorham and Ricky Warwick have been leading this band since its inception and they always surround themselves with outstanding players. Christain Martucci brings a great style to this band. Jay Ruston's production is top notch (as it was on Uriah Heep's lp Living The Dream). My fave tunes on this album are Tonight The Moonlight Let Me Down, Another State of Grace and Ain't The End Of The World. Actually this whole album just flat out is awesome.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2019This is very similar to other BSR releases, which is to say it's very good !
Keys, Sax and backing vocals add a bit of dimension to the overall sound.
I thought Heavy Fire was their weakest release (but still very good), maybe the well was running a bit dry with Damon Johnson but this is back to the standard of the first two.
I found the comment about the drumming in another review pretty laughable, comparing the BSR drummer-de-jour to Bonham. Ridiculous !
Now if they'd had Brian Downey, that might have been something....
- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2019Black Star Riders move forward with a great new album. I've listened to the whole album several times, and it just gets better with every spin. The overall mix and production quality is very good. And I must say I disagree with one reviewers comments about Chad Szeliga's drumming not being good enough for the band, He does a great job, and I love listening to his playing throughout.
If your a fan of previous BSR albums then you can't go wrong with Another State Of Grace.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2020These boys have dropped yet another great platter in a YEAR of great platters. Heavy music is in fine, RUDE health, man, 2019 saw so MANY great ones that BSR have kept up the quality, and this is a great addition to any real fan's collection, well written tunes, well played and sung and well produced, you can't ask for more, so score this, you won't be sorry, well done fellas, see you on the road in 2020!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2019Black Star Riders deliver the goods again! How can a band keep outdoing themselves album after album. They keep getting better with time. Not really a bad track on the whole disc. Excellent vocals and trademark dueling guitars keep this music blazing away!!
If you liked the first 3 discs, this is a must for all fans.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2021If you like BSR's previous albums you won't be disappointed. Strong songs that you'll dig right away, the album just sounds great (particularly LOUD) and those glorious, Thin Lizzy-esque twin guitar solos/harmonies are there in force. Really, if you dig excellent hard rock, you'll dig this album.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2019Another solid hard rocking release from the Black Star Riders. Fantastic musicianship and great instrumental work highlight Another Stat of Grace. If you liked their other 3 albums you’ll like this album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Continua el legado de Thin Lizzy...
Un buen disco de hard rock clásico, de tintes británicos, aunque no llega a ser el mejor trabajo de la banda.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enorme disco
